1. How do I dispose of an Old Dehumidifier?

Most dehumidifiers contain Freon.  This item would need to be taken to the Lanchester landfill for Freon removal and recycling.  There is a $20 charge. 

2. What do I do with an old TV?

Old TV's can be taken to the Lanchester landfill.  Please contact them directly for limits and instructions.  There is a fee of $20.

3. Can I put my recycling in a plastic bag/trash bag and put into the Recycling Cart?

No!!  All recycling should be put into the recycling cart loose!  Plastic bags clog up the sorting machines!

4. Can I recycle a Pizza Box?

Only if it is cardboard and has NO signs of food/grease.  Sometimes it is just the top of the box that can be recycled. 

5. Can I recycle my old freezer or refrigerator?

Refrigerators and Freezers must have the Freon or Refrigerant removed from them professionally (usually by an HVAC or appliance company). The professional will mark it with a special certification sticker.  One it is stickered, it may be set out for Bulk Trash day.
